Runway Babe: Johanna Thompson

When we caught a glimpse of model Johanna Thompson this summer at Miami Swim Week, we couldn't keep our eyes off her. A magnetic smile, legs for days, and the most stupendous natural afro make her a gorgeous modern-day beauty, one we were thrilled to see on the runway in her hometown. The beauty hit the road immediately after Swim Week for a holiday in Italy — one she documented beautifully on her Instagram feed (note this hilarious Pisa tower shot). We caught up with her en route back to the U.S. (literally, in the airport at LGA) for our summer Bikini questionnaire.

Right now I'm in (part of the world): Currently NYC's LaGuardia Airport, but I'm based in Miami

The last bikini I bought was from: Ellis beachwear

Hat or sunglasses: Sunglasses — I have too much hair (for a hat)

Favorite sunscreen: Clarins

Beauty product I can't live without: Alba volcanic clay face wipes

At the beach I always have a/my: Top off

Coffee or tea? Coffee — black

My favorite place to travel is: Italy

Instagram account everyone should follow: @babymommafit

My go-to workout is: JetSet Pilates — I'm also an instructor

Favorite summer snack: Watermelon

Go-to summer cocktail: I don't drink

Work of art/photograph/book/song I can't stop thinking about (with link, please): I saw a Jackson Pollack exhibit this weekend at the Guggenheim museum in Manhattan. He was my favorite artist as a child and he was an art major and from the Midwest — just like my mom

My #summergoals are: To get fit again. I ate a lot in Italy.

Biggest inspiration: I think myself. I'm pretty Type A and I'm very competitive. I set goals for myself and achieve them and then set more. I think evolution is necessary for self-awareness. If I don't grow as a person spiritually or professionally I get resentful and discontented. I always want to be grateful, so I work for everything I have.

Where I haven't been that I most want to go: Capri

Real tan or faux: Real

I'm never without my: My afro

You'd be surprised to know that I: Haven't had a drink or a drug in seven years.
