This Stylist-Approved Homemade Hair Mask Is The Answer To Your Prayers

If you were to catch me while cleaning my house, you would probably have a good laugh. My "thing" when I clean is to put on a face mask and a hair mask at the same time, and leave them on while I whip my house into shape!

Keeping yourself occupied while wearing these products will reduce the anxious wait time required for the formulas to take effect; plus, it's as easy as just jumping in the shower when you are done to rinse it all off.

When it comes to hair repair, I am a HUGE fan of LUSH's Hair Doctor Hair and Scalp Mask. But if you are in the mood to play with some fresh ingredients, here is a great DIY hair mask recipe!

  • 1 banana
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil, or argan oil
  • 1 shower cap

  1. Simply combine ingredients in a blender until the mixture turns to a paste.
  2. Section hair.
  3. Apply paste from roots to ends.
  4. Twist hair into bun and put your shower cap on*
  5. Leave on for 30 min (or however long it takes to clean the house)!
  6. Rinse, Shampoo, and Condition per usual.
  7. Voila! Deeply hydrated hair, DIY-style.

*The shower cap is important because it will help capture the heat that leaves your scalp and will open the hair cuticle for a deeper conditioning treatment
