Non-Touring: The Easiest Beauty Trend, Ever

Posted by Bikini Owner

Taylor Hill's perfectly pearly, highlighted face is the epitome of non-touring.

Unless you're Kim Kardashian, you probably don't have two spare hours every day to do your makeup.  As a matter of fact, even Kim K should probably carve that down to say, 1:45, right? Her contouring technique is well-documented and extremely labor-intensive — and, if we're being honest, leaves behind a makeup-heavy look that is the total opposite of beachy-breezy. Which is a short way of saying: Contouring? It ain't for us.

But non-touring, a minimal effort/maximum impact makeup technique that's super-hot right now, is absolutely on our radar. Essentially a strategic highlighting plan that amps up light reflection on the high planes of the face (cheekbones, bridge of the nose, orbital bone of the eye, hairline, etc), non-touring adds volume and dewy, glowy youthfulness to the face and leaves you looking baby-fresh with virtually no work at all.

All that's required is a shimmery highlighter to blend onto the light-catching angles of your face. You can get fancy and use a makeup sponge or brush to apply it, or simply use a makeup artist's favorite tool: clean fingers. This video below from luxury skincare and cosmetics company Chantecaille nails the application process—so fast, so simple. Product-wise, the highlighter featured in the video is their Liquid Lumiere, a pearly gel-cream that swirls and blends beautifully. Other products that hit the same notes are Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer, a pearly pink cream laced with reflective mica and  Yves Saint Laurent's classic Touche Eclat click-release highlighter.
