Runway Central - Ed Hardy Swimwear Fashion Show
| If you love Ed Hardy, you're not alone. The biggest celebrities in the world, ranging from Madonna, Shakira, Janet Jackson, Eva Longoria, Beyonce and Jessica Alba, to Shaquille O'Neal and David Beckham are fans of sexy French designer Christian Audigier's vintage tattoo inspired designs. | | |
The swimwear line is the newest addition to the Ed Hardy apparel collection, and each piece is individually made with the creative original Ed Hardy tattoo graphics such as hearts, roses, skulls and flames. The prints are sublimated into rich Italian swimwear fabrics and then adorned with crystals, jeweled hardware and colorful foiling to make each style totally dazzling and unique. You have to have the body and attitude to carry these swimsuits off, but if you do, you'll totally look like a rock star. (And yes that goes for the men's collection too.) |

The Ed Hardy swimwear fashion show was one of the most fun we've ever attended, with all kinds of celebs including TV hostess/model Cindy Taylor and colorful basketball player Dennis Rodman. There were several swinging Christian Audigier/Ed Hardy after parties, including one at Miami Beach hotspot Mynt hosted by luscious swimsuit supermodel and friend of Bikini.com Joanna Krupa. Party like a rock star! |

Runway Central - DIESEL Swimwear Fashion Show
| You might think the bikini world is all fun and games, but for some people, it's a business too. This week, the eyes of fashion insiders, journalists, buyers, celebrities, stylists and VIP's are turning to Miami Beach for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim Show. In plain English, it's where bikini experts from around the world check out next year's upcoming swimwear trends as models strut their stuff on the runway. And yes, they're really looking at the swimsuits and not the models. Of course it helps to have free tropical drinks, super cool music, swaying palm trees and beautiful people hanging around too. The event is centered at Miami Beach's historic Raleigh Hotel, which has one of the most famous and majestic art deco swimming pools in the world. After the runway shows, everyone heads off to the famous South Beach private parties for mingling, networking, and festivities. Invitation only! | | |
The five day event provides three runway venues for top designers to debut their collections, and is produced in conjunction with the Swimwear Association of Florida's annual swimwear trade show nearby. Of course Bikini.com was invited by designers to cover the shows in pursuit of discovering the latest trends in swimwear, so the millions of Bikini.com fans out there around the world can make us proud and look good on the beach. |

Sara Hoots wins Miss Hooters International 2008
| We'd like to congratulate Bikini.com Supermodel Sara Hoots, who just won $50,000 after being crowned Miss Hooters International 2008 last night! There were 128 gorgeous bronzed beauties, but only one could take the title and we think it was a great choice. Last night Bikini.com joined the festivities at the 12th Annual Hooters Pageant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Sara looked stunning as always, and will now be the face of Hooters for the next 12 months. Our friends at Hooters were also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the opening of the first Hooters restaurant (put that in your bikini history book!) Lots of celebrity judges participated, including racecar driver Helio Castroneves, golfer John Daly, basketball star John Salley and our long-time buddy Lou Maggio, who has discovered and managed many top models including Brooke Burke and Joanna Krupa. | | | |
We'd also like to congratulate upcoming Bikini.com All-Stars Sara Barrett, who won Miss Photogenic, and LeAngela Davis, who placed in the top ten. You'll see more of them here on Bikini.com very soon. |
Thanks to the entire team at Hooters for putting on such a fabulous event and congrats again to our Tall Texan, Sara! |

Bikini.com gets tikified at the Hukilau
| Bikini.com may be the world’s biggest beach party – but we think we may have found some even bigger beach party animals this past weekend at The Hukilau in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. What’s the Hukilau? Well in old Hawaiian days, it was a traditional Hawaiian fishing festival, where a giant net was cast into the sea that the villagers pulled back to shore. It emphasized the spirit of family and community. This groovy modern day Hukilau was a net thrown out to the entire world, bringing lovers of 'Polynesian Pop' and 'Tiki' culture from all over the world together for a very special swinging weekend celebration. It was Tiki Geek Chic! | | |
Organized by Tiki Kiliki (aka Christie White, but it’s so much cooler calling her Tiki), the event was a weekend full of entertainment and laughs. The crowd was full of beautiful girls in vintage Hawaiian outfits and guys in cool Hawaiian shirts and hats. (We’re not sure if they look like that all the time, but it sure was fun for a weekend.) We particularly enjoyed the presentations by top tiki carver Bosko, sassy historian Charles Phoenix, and classic Tiki TV expert Kevin Kidney. Most of all, we loved the hula girls and out of this world drinks at the fabulous Mai Kai restaurant. Oh, and did we mention that Quasha, our tikirific Art Director got randomly called up on stage to dance with the professionals? (No, we promise we didn't set it up.) |

Topping off the weekend was the exciting after party with cool party bands including The Intoxicators, a really hot band that combines classic surf sounds, rockabilly and what they call 'space surf'.
This year was supposed to be the last official Hukilau, but we got the good news that the Hukilau will continue on next year. You should not miss the Hukilau 2009 -- we will be there with our flaming drinks and hula skirts on! |
