After 15 solid years together, the members of Sawyer Brown have become seasoned veterans of life on the road. These years of experience have proven valuable, as the band's sound has changed at their own pace. Despite the coming of the advanced technological age, the band has stuck to what it knows best, and in today's day-and-age, goes largely forgotten. The title cut on their most recent album, Six Days On The Road
tells of simple, old-fashioned hard work and the satisfaction of a job well-done.
"The secret of our success is that we've never quit caring. We've never been complacent about our music or our position within country music. We've always felt we had more to achieve. That keeps you hungry, and we've stayed hungry. That's at the heart of why we're still here." -Mark Miller of "Sawyer Brown"
Sawyer Brown has been busy over the years, to say the least: 15 albums in 14 years, 19 top-5 singles (8 of which were #1's), five consecutive Top Vocal Band trophies from the fan-voted TNN/Music City News Country Awards, an unprecedented 29 hit music videos and numerous Country Music Award, Grammy, Academy of Country Music and American Music Awards nominations. They were the top-grossing country act of 1994, but their hearts exhibit a genuine passion for family, friends, fans and the music they make. Although Sawyer Brown's touring schedule has slowed, in more recent years, from frantic to merely "very full," the creative juices are still flowing stronger than ever. "I feel like we still have more things to say, and I'd like to think we've got some experimenting and stretching still to do, musically. If there's a broader statement it is just that after all the years we're still here doing it. I hope I can be having conversations about our records another 15 years from now."
